In growing numbers, institutions of higher education are collaborating with community groups to apply research, scholarship, and service to real-life problems. They are integrating such partnerships into their curriculum, academic studies, and student activities, making them part of their ongoing mission.
The College of Management, Academic Studies (COMAS) is among the pioneers in Israel with the declared charge of inculcating principles and values of social involvement, personal responsibility and contribution to the community. COMAS is active in many fields – cultural, academic and help to the needy – reflecting the multi-faceted nature of the College.
The guiding principle behind this activity is the creation of a dynamic between students, faculty and administrative staff and the community. We believe that as an institute of higher education it is incumbent upon us to step out of the ivory tower and to become a part of the society which surrounds and nurtures us, at the same time creating an ongoing dialogue for the benefit of the institution and society as one.
