Research Authority

The Research Authority is a college-wide unit founded with the goal of encouraging research in the various units at the College of Management - Academic Studies (COMAS), and submission of applications for grants from external research funds in Israel and overseas.

The Research Authority encourages and supports basic and applicative research, with the goal of:

  • Elevating the academic standing of COMAS
  • Improving the quality of teaching
  • Promoting the academic standing of the lecturers within the academic community

To support the unique credo of the College of Management - Academic Studies (COMAS), that stresses merging of the academic-theoretical with the practical, the Research Authority initiated research studies in fields that combine theory with practice, and that have the potential to contribute to formulation of public policy. Additionally, the Research Authority also initiated seminars, conferences and publications in which academic faculty, that are active members of the research community at the College of Management - Academic Studies (COMAS), participate.

COMAS Research Authority's Fund  Open

Research Authority's Fund at the College of Management - Academic Studies (COMAS) encourages and supports research and publications.

The fund awards research grants and encourages publication, on a variety of recognized academic platforms, of research studies conducted by faculty members. The fund is primarily designed to assist researchers in schools and departments that are unable to allocate research budgets, and aims to allow full-time researchers, who devote most of their time to that unit, to continue their research work in their field of academic endeavor.

In addition to the assistance in conducting research, the fund assists researchers in covering the costs of publishing articles and books that were accepted for publication by academic journals and publishing houses.

An appeal is published once every year, usually during the second semester.

Reducing Teaching Hours to Advance Research  Open

The President of the College of Management - Academic Studies (COMAS) initiated the establishment of a mechanism for reducing teaching hours as a prize aimed at encouraging research. The goal is to encourage active researchers, who are employed in a full time job, by reducing 25% of the teaching load for a period of two years. At the end of the two year period, the researcher's eligibility for an additional encouragement period is examined.

Green Campus Grants  Open

the College of Management - Academic Studies (COMAS) is undergoing a transformation into a green campus, and therefore we have set ourselves a goal of encouraging teaching and research into issues related to the environment.
