LL.B. in Law
About the Program
The Haim Striks School of Law at the College of Management Academic Studies was founded in 1990, and one of its founders was Prof. Daniel Friedmann, recipient of the Israel Prize for law and former Minister of Justice. The school offers a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree accredited by the Council for Higher Education (CHE), and two Master degrees (LL.M. and M.A.). It is the first non-subsidized, non-profit academic institution in Israel to be recognized and certified by the CHE.
The curriculum of the LL.B. program is consists of mandatory courses, elective courses, practical workshops, seminars, projects and special programs. In addition to a theoretical legal education, the school offers its students a wide and unique set of professional experiences in the form of legal clinics and academic externships which constitute a significant part of the school’s activities, and are in the center of the elective courses. The curriculum and its practical components allow students to learn how law, society and justice work together and influence each other; they also learn about power that the future jurists have in order to bring about change and influence Israeli society.
Since its establishment, the Haim Striks School of Law has represented innovation, initiative and constant striving for academic excellence. Today, legal work is versatile and is part of a dynamic economic universe. The School challenges its students to aim high, by offering an excellent environment for studies, including libraries, advanced research centers and an excellent faculty consisting of leading researchers and professors. Furthermore, with the understanding that in today’s law world there are many advantages for those who are exposed to global activity - the school enables its students to integrate in a wide range of international activities, which include summer courses at leading universities, participation in prestigious competitions and more.
Many of the faculty members, who teach in the program, are regarded as top lecturers: Prof. Orit Fischman Afori, who studies the fields of intellectual property and copyright in the digital world; Prof. Suzie Navot, who specializes in public and constitutional law, Prof. Yifat Bitton, who specializes in tort law, Dr. Ido Baum, who specializes in law and economics, and others. Many other esteemed judges and lawyers who specialize in different fields teach at the school.
At the end of their studies the graduates join one of the largest and strongest professional social networks in Israel. In addition, the school offers its graduates a Career Management Center which accompanies them during their studies and offers them innovative projects in order to enable them to take their first steps in the world of employment, and throughout their entire professional career - both as employers and as job seekers.
